For this assignment, I explored the EBSCO database resource known as the Teacher Reference Center. This resource is highly beneficial for both teachers and administrators, offering access to academic journal articles on teaching strategies, classroom interventions, and current topics across various content areas. It is designed to support professional growth of adult educators by providing evidence-based information to enhance instructional practice. In my video, I focused on a topic of great interest to me—accelerated mathematics—and how it impacts middle school students’ preparation for high school and beyond. Prior to this assignment, I had not used the Teacher Reference Center in depth, so this was a valuable opportunity to become more familiar with its features and consider its potential applications in my role as an educator.
Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI appreciated how you highlighted the applicability of this resource for both teachers and administrators. I believe that all stakeholders in the educational realm should stay up-to-date on current topics relevant to today's students. Many of the articles available through this website would support this learning and development. I look forward to exploring it further to help support my own learning as a first grade teacher!

Hello Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching your AVL demonstration video. It was clear and concise. I like how you explored beyond student resources and reviewed all that the Alabama virtual library had to offer. Thank you for providing the teacher reference center. I believe this resource would be helpful for a literature review in a research paper. Again great job on this assignment!
