Alabama Virtual Library

 PebbleGo by Capstone

Find out about PebbleGo and how to navigate through the program: https://youtu.be/_y6UfTi9vzo

PebbleGo is a student friendly online virtual library where students can find non-fiction information about animals, biographies, science, and social studies. One great thing about PebbleGo is everything can be read aloud. This opens up its age ability to meet younger students or even students who struggle with reading. This would be a great resource to use in my kindergarten classroom because the students are not able to read yet, but are learning about these topics. PebbleGo would be a way to enrich the students knowledge of these skills and topics.

  1. I have never used PebbleGo before, but I also teach kindergarten. This resource would be a great addition to my classroom as we discuss various topics. I think it’s wonderful that the information can be read aloud. This will not only help young learners like my kindergarteners but also English Language Learners (ELL). After exploring the site, I appreciate that there are many pictures to support struggling and young readers. I have found it challenging to find ways for kindergarten and first-grade students to research topics, so this resource would be a great introduction to 'how to conduct research.' Since kindergarten students are just learning to read and write, most research is done by the teacher, but this would provide a way to gradually guide them into doing research on their own. Your video was very informative and helpful. Thank you for sharing this resource.
