TeachingBooks
TeachingBooks is an online tool that helps teachers make reading more engaging and meaningful for students. This resource can be used for all ages K-12. It provides resources like author interviews, book trailers, lesson plans, and discussion guides for many popular and diverse books. Teachers can use TeachingBooks to give students a closer look at authors, fun activities, and helpful book information. This resource is especially useful for helping all students enjoy reading, understand books more deeply, and connect with stories in new ways. It's particularly valuable for supporting differentiated instruction, building a love for reading, and deepening comprehension through multimedia resources that make literature more accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
Thank you for sharing this resource. TeachingBooks is a resource that I can see myself using within my current second grade classroom AND in the future when I become a media specialist. I love the 'Timely Topics' information. This is a great way to incorporate events happening in the world. The books ideas for World Kindness Day and the book trailers would be something I could be using this week. The site seems relatively easy to navigate and the filtering options can help narrow down a topic for easy access. I think this resource should be shared with all teachers as it has a plethora of information.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this resources! I am very excited to try and incorporate this especially the "Timely Topic" portion! I love how it provides books and ideas that go with each subject. I also like how you said that it changes frequently. And not to mention crafts and activities that are planned for you! As they say, work smarter not harder!!
ReplyDeleteI chose to look at your blog post because, by the title "Teaching Books", it seemed like a database anyone could use even if you are in CTE like me! I am glad I watched your video about this database, as it offers tons of great resources for any teacher! Looking further to see how I could use it as a Family and Consumer Science teacher, I found that the "Browse By: Collections" was the best place for me to start to find what I could incorporate into my classroom. Thank you for sharing this information, I am excited to see how this database can help me in the future!
