I chose to present on the PBS LearningMedia Resource. This Resource includes information for students in PreK through twelfth grade in several subject areas, including math, science, social studies, and more. The number of free resources this site hosts was terrific to me. There are videos, audio resources, lesson plans, interactive lessons, worksheets, and more. The videos included in this resource could be used to introduce a new topic in the classroom. Teachers can also create a free account to assign things to students using this resource. I plan to use the interactive lessons to have greater student engagement.
I also chose the PBS LearningMedia resource for mine because it seemed so versatile. I definitely think you are correct in that it will increase student engagement. I didn't realize until looking into this project that it also offers worksheets in addition to the videos that I have used in my classroom in the past. Most recently, I have started using this to share interviews of different careers that show how they still utilize the math that we are currently teaching in Middle School, and I hope to start using it even more in other subject areas.
ReplyDeleteI have not used this resource in my classroom! I enjoyed your video and learning about how I can use this in my classroom. I think my students in kindergarten will enjoy this because they are familiar with shows and characters already associated with PBS.
